What Should You Expect?

In the pursuit of straighter teeth, you can expect a series of appointments to monitor progress and ensure the goals is realized. Most patients:

Appointment 1

Dr. Lordo will determine if you are a candidate for Invisalign® and outline a treatment path with you. If the treatment is recommended, he will capture 3D images of your teeth. These images will be used to create your custom set of plastic aligners.

Appointment 2

When your aligners arrive, we'll ask you to come in for a quick appointment. We'll make sure they fit well and answer any questions you might have.

Appointment 3

Typically, we will schedule appointments at 6-8 week intervals. This helps us monitor your progress and ensure you're on track for your smile goals.

Invisalign FAQs

What are Invisalign® aligners made of?

The Invisalign trays are made from a thermoplastic material, meaning they become pliable above a certain temperature. Their high level of customization means they can gradually align individual teeth—in the order Dr. Lordo determines is preferred or necessary.

How much does Invisalign® cost?

The cost of Invisalign® treatment is similar to traditional braces. Our team will help you determine ways to make treatment affordable to you—including looking at insurance coverage, pay with tax-free dollars from your FSA or HSA, or monthly payment plans.

How often do I need to replace Invisalign trays or aligners?

In most cases, you will replace your aligners every two weeks. Dr. Lordo will outline the process when reviewing your treatment plan.

Will I need to wear a retainer when the treatment is finished?

It’s suggested that some patients continue to wear a retainer, to keep teeth from shifting out of place. Dr. Lordo will advise whether or not this is needed for your own treatment.
